First impressions last the longest. So when you meet someone you might be kind of reserved, shy or on some “fuck with me, you know I got it” type of stuff.
Whatever song that describes your personality, let that shit play and perform it as if you’re headlining at the largest arena in your hometown!!! I mean, I have several go-to songs/artists that speak to all occasions but when I first meet someone they aren’t going to get the Ribbon in the Sky, by Stevie Wonder version of me because that consists of: the stars in my eyes, clouds under my feet and me thinking “let’s get married ASAP!” They can get the Wipe Me Down version, by Boosie and Webbie (if you don’t know the song google the remix, it should get you hype – and you’re welcome).
However, when the concert is over don’t switch up on us and be the blandest pretzel at the concession stand. That shit is weak as hell and don’t expect myself or my crew to be fawning over you.
Be your authentic self. Be vibrant. Be outgoing. Be comfortable. Know when to wear those different hats, but don’t conform for the sake of appeasing another and worrying about how they might perceive you. Allowing them to get the real you is relaxing and you don’t have to worry about keeping up with the other you. Keep them engaged, stay on their radar and don’t let another person slide up on that track and create a better remix… I know you get my drift.
So in this year of being better, setting goals and crushing that shit; let people experience the real you in your true authentic form and watch them show up when you have a concert.
